Werke: Portretten van Joost van den Vondel(1876);Verspreide verhalen in proza, 4 Bände(1879-84).
 
 2) Karel Joan Lodewijk, niederländischer Schriftsteller, Pseudonym Lodewijk van Dẹyssel, * Hilversum 23. 9. 1864, ✝ Haarlem 26. 1. 1952, Sohn von 1); schloss sich der revolutionären literarischen Richtung von 1880 an und schrieb Beiträge für »De nieuwe Gids«; naturalistischer Erzähler, Kritiker.
 
Werke: Romane: Een liefde (1887); De kleine republiek (1888); Uit het leven van Frank Rozelaar (1911).
